Partition Help!!!!!
I am using the vista Disk Managment to do partition.
It works for my external harddrive, but it doesn't work on my C drive.
I shrinked my NTFS C drive by 3gb and an unallocated 3gb volume comes up.
But when I tried to make it a simple volume, an error message comes up and says "There is not enough space available on the disk to complete this operation" even though I have 105gb of free space.

Any suggestions?

thanks in advance

Have you tried deleting the unallocated space and reactivating it by formatting?

Try doing the partitioning offline from the Vista Recovery Environment. It's much easier because Vista is not running.

Boot from the Vista DVD, choose the repair options and get a command prompt, and then run diskpart.exe. Use /? for options.
