Vista Rating of the GeForce 7600GS video card
i've recently dual booted my machine for XP and Vista, but....i have a bit of an issue

in Vista my PC has a windows experience rating of 1.0

now, i have pretty much all of the newer hardware and software installed

Processor: calculations per second - 4.2
Memory (RAM): memory operations per second - 4.5
Graphics: desktop performance for Windows Aero - 1.0
Gaming Graphics: 3D business and gaming graphics performance - 4.2
Primary Hard Disk: disk data transfer rate - 5.3

with all that said, how come Vista rates my video card with a 1.0 and its a near high-end card?

You should install the latest drivers from nvidia.
I would think that desktop performance for Windows Aero would be atleast a 4.3

Mine is.....
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz - 5.3
Memory (RAM) 1.98 GB - 5.5
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS for Aero Desktop - 5.9
Gaming graphics 1014 MB Total available graphics memory - 5.6
Primary hard disk - 5.9

^thats what i've done right before i reformatted my hard drive to install XP along with Vista. i've made sure i had the newest version downloaded from the site (also saved to my flash drive prior to reformatting)

i went to the nVidia site to get the vista drivers for the 7600GS, but what i've noticed; i've havent had a problem with using aero, it runs just as good as a machine with a higher graphics score.

Then it could be an error in that table. If the system is running fine, then you shouldn't worry about it.
The index rating has no effect on how the system will run. it is only informational.

Edit) actullay, as far as I know the only thing it affects is Aero. If you can still run Aero, then it is just an error in the rating, meaning you have the higher number, but just isn't showing correctly. Disable all running programs, especially anti virus and try again.

With that said, I know it's annoying to know the number should be higher, Have you run all of Windows Updates?
