Unhappy Vista boot problems.
Okay guys, apologies for a bit of a long post, but here it goes.

For the last three months I have been running my computer perfectly fine, and then all of a sudden it wont even start.

Basic Specs are as follows:

Motherboard: Foxconn core series, p4m9007mb
Processor: 2.4g Intel Pentium 4
Ram: 2g DDR2 667mhz (pc2-5300)
Graphics card: 256mb pci express.

When I tried to boot it up, it just went to the start up screen and then stopped. I couldnt even access safe mode. Something more worrying is that it started beeping when I tried to start it, so I took it to a repair shop, and they said I had corrupt ram and that it needed changing.

After changing it, the computer got a little further, and got to the foxconn logo where you can enter the setup. Having made sure the seetings were ok, it still didnt work, so not having any faith in the last repair shop, i tried somewhere else. Here they told me that my motherboards memory banks were frid and that I needed a new mobo.

Again, i took thier advice, changed it, and yet i still have the same problem. A few times, the computer has made to the vista loading bar, but shorlty after, I briefly encountered a blue screen of death (for about a millisecond) before it turned itself off again.

Now, I have the same problem as before I changed the ram and mobo... getting to the setup screen and then just hanging. Sometimes it says 'failure to recognise boot disk, please insert system disk' but when i do nothing happens.

This was a very expensive computer, and seeing as I have lost the warantee, I cant afford to replace it so please, please help!

'failure to recognise boot disk, please insert system disk'

Have you seen this error prior to taking it in?
Personally I wouldn't touch a foxconn mobo unless you paid me.
Sounds like you may have been fleeced. We thuroughly check our systems before they leave.

They should have ran full diags on HD, Memory and Mobo. Doesn't sound like they did, just making guesses.

That error indicates a bad hard drive or IDE/Sata cable or bad Mobo. But since the mobo has been changed, and I would hope the cables too. Then most likely a bad HD.

I love this new system.

Thanks very much, I have a spare HD at home so will check that next week. To be honest, I think you are right about their service though, I will not bother going back in future.
