where in vista?
where are "my favourites" in vista? also I cant seem to find outlook express, do i need to download a new version, have I lost all my old programs/ emails forever? I still have the old hard drive & it is connected (now drive "F") Ive tried to drag & drop a few things & some work & others dont?

My favorites what? Are we talking about internet explorer?

Outlook express is now "Windows Mail"

the saved links that were called "my favourites " in xp & '98 sometimes called "bookmarks"

You can get to them the same way as in XP, thanks to Vista's many hard links. Just go to Start > Run, and type:

C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Favorites
or
C:\Users\<your username>\Favorites

It's the same folder. "Favourites" in the UK version, of course.

You'll find that alomost all your paths from XP will work the same in Vista due to hard linking, even though the folders in Vista have different names.

Like stated before outlook is now windows mail. If you do not like that you can also get what windows live mail. Its simialar to Hotmail but it is a program. I personally like Windows mail, it feels and looks identical to Outlook maybe a few small tweaks here and there.

For favorites, click on the stars at the top left on IE.

And if you want your favourites nice and handy, right click on the favourites folder, select create shortcut. Then right click on the shortcut folder you just created and select send to desktop.
