how to stop svideo-out rearranging icons?
I sometimes like to watch things I have on my laptop.. videos/pics etc on my tv through an s-video cable.. it works pretty great, the only problem is that when i switch back to the comp, it has rearranged all the desktop icons to fit the resolution it outs to the tv.. and it is a pain in to switch them all back.
I've seen some software to lock icons, but i dunno if they'll work with vista and i'm not really in the position to spend 20 bucks fixing this.. is there another way to either save the icons position, or keep them from being rearranged in the first place?
(the pc in question is a hp pavillion dv6000)

thx

The reason they get rearranged is because of the difference in resolution from the video playing to your computing. Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid this without a third party tool. No easy answer on this one unfortunately.

hrm. is there any freeware ones out there i wonder?
i remember way back in the day when my brother had video out he had a separate program for switching over that had all sorts of crazy options for customizing the display/co-display/resolution/etc.. but i dunno what it was or anything.. i'm pretty sure it was freeware
