I put this in your own thread. Replying to a guide is NOT going to get you any help.

Next you need to have the controller driver for your xp install. If the mfg of the laptop does not have the driver available for download, you are pretty much out of luck. You can attempt to find out what chipset is used ie nvidia, intel, sis, etc and see if you can go to the site of the chipset maker and find a controller driver to download and install during the xp install. Note this is done via the F6 prompt at the start of setup.

Do check that the laptop maker has xp drivers available for download BEFORE you begin this task. If there are no drivers available, you are wasting your time.

If you are trying to install to an external drive that probably won't work. Can you partition the main drive?
