Solved: configuring firewall to allow AV files to access internet so auto updates will work
Hi, my OS is Vista HP. I have recently upgraded to ESET NOD32 AV Version 3.0 from the previous version. Auto updates worked perfectly with the previous version but they are not working with V 3.0. I need to know how to configure Windows Vista Firewall to allow 3 x ESET program files to access the internet so auto updates will work. I have searched HELP in the firewall but I'm not any nearer to finding out how to configure it. Could anyone assist in this matter? Thanks in advance

You should just get a message when they try to access internet and you agree "don't block" is all.
Contgrol Panel, Windows Firewall, "allow a program through firewall" (up on left)and it shouls be listed or you can add it.

Hi Rich-M. Thanks for your reply. I had "checked" the ESET box prior to posting my thread (as per your instructions) but still no auto updates were happening. However it was an error on my part in the ESET scheduler. It is all working properly now. Sorry for wasting your time.

Not a problem... incidentally I am a Nod32 user and have been for years and I have noticed this year a problem where now and then Nod loses your logon and password and then it cannot update. You need to keep an eye on that too.
