sent to desktop (create shortcut) missing??
When I right click on a file and want to send to desktop create shortcut
option is not there... I followed directions for a fix but ended up with
send to desktop, which is nice but that just copies it to the desktop, not
just creating the shortcut..

I have another vista machine, I can copy stuff from if someone can tell me what to copy???

thanks,

tom

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo is only a collection of shortcuts-- the problem may be deeper than that... try it though....

Try SendTo 1.6

or SendTo Toys

Thanks... I had been using sent to for so long, I thought it was a part of windows.

I'm fine now.

It is part of Windows. To re-create the shortcut, open a Notepad window. Type the word: "desktop" (no quotes, no spaces at the beginning). Save the file to the SendTo folder as "Desktop (Create Shortcut).DeskLink".

You could also find the link in another account and copy to yours.
