Exclamation Programs on vista stop responding & need program help
I have a few problems. 1 some programs while I am using them, when I turn them on, or when I close them they stop responding. Also iTunes takes a while to open. Even though I know programs not responding are “standard future in vista” I want to know if I can get them to stop stop responding and working correctly. Sending are there ways I can speed up vista. I just reformatted my computer and have done disk cleaners and defragmented my pc (with ccleaner and disk keeper and windows ones too) is there anything else I can do? I did a can on command prompt I don’t know what it is called but it found corrupt files how do I fix them. I typed in sfc /scannow and I got it from the Microsoft website (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833) how do I fix the corrupt files. Thank you for all helpers.

Processor: Intel core 2 CPU 6600@2.40GHz
Ram: 2045 MB
Operating System: Vista 32-bit
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS

You might have to give a bit more information such as what and where the files are, if you want someone to help you.

try running them in compatibility mode. right click on the program goto properties, and there is an option for compatibility mode there somewhere.

I tried compatibility mode
I only have real trouble with iTunes which I know is not working well on vista anyway. I would try compatibility mode except I can’t there is no menu. It takes a while for iTunes to open and when it does it is black for a few minutes and then works perfectly. Also windows explorer and programs and when I right click take a little while to work. Over all I think I need help speeding up my pc and find some sort of patch. Last but not least actually yes least how about someone post some way to make pc faster and free disk defragmenter and disk cleanup and other programs to help pc.

Well for a start, if you actually do a web search for Vista tweaks , you get quite a few right away!! Checking out the threads in this forum will give you lots more. Also, have you checked out the multimedia forum? Lots of information on iTunes in there. Try the search function at the top of the page
