Unhappy vista says im connected to the internet but cant connect to the interet
My brother has Vista U and is able to connect to the wireless router fine yet he cant connect to the net with anything. I've been through all the settings i could find trying to work out whats going on but vista cant see any problems and thinks its connected.

its been able to connect in the past up till about a week ago. all over computers on the network connect to the internet fine.

I've also been through the routers settings and it all looks good from there.

If anyone has any ideas that would be really helpful.

Check IP settings using IPCONFIG/ALL, make sure the Gateway and DNS addresses are pointing to your Router.
On the Router settings, make sure the login details are correct and DNS is set to either specific ISP supplied DNS addresses or set to auto detect.

Are you sure that he is connected to HIS router and not some neighbor's?
This is a major issue with a lot of wireless connections.

It is possible that he is connected without the browser being started; try to start the browser (internet explorer, etc) after the connection is made.
