Network gone but not
Quote:
If i try to open an mp3 it doesn't play. The program i use, jet audio, brings the song up, but it stays at 0:00 and it is not paused. If i open an mp3 in WMP i get this message that says the song is not available. I have all the permissions and there is not another program using the song. Also a problem that occurred along with this one is that the network window is blank. Also it says i am not connected to the network in the tray, but all the functionality of it is still there. All other windows like documents and my computer still work fine. Here is a pic of the network window.

I am running ultimate. Thank you very much
I had the same problem this guy was having in the beginning with the no sound and no network thing. Like you my internet works fine, i just cant get into the network window, when i do try my explorer freezes up and stuff. I fixed my sound with help of another forum, but i still have the network issue. I was wondering if anyone had found a fix to this or if you had found fix?

Any help is greatly apreciated.

Can you tell me how you fixed the audio problem?

I'm having the exact same issues. Sometimes I'm unable to play any type of media with an audio track, and when I do get it working I can't use the headphone jack on my laptop.

I'm also having the exact same Networking problems. My wireless and ethernet both work, but the network symbol always has the red x, and my networking folder is blank like in that screenshot.

Is the programme compatable with Vista? Does it say on their website that it works for sure with Vista?

The audio problem was caused by the AIM 6.0 update, it checked a box that allowed one program to take complete control of the sound on your computer

If you have recently updated AIM to somthing..try this:

Go to your start bar and Type Sound, when sound pops up click on it
Your audio device should pop up in a window maybe with some other stuff
Right click on your audio device and go to properties.
Go to the advanced tab and uncheck the box that says "Allow Applications to take exlusive control of this device" (i think its somthing like that)

And that should fix it...if you havnt updated aim recently or that doesnt work, i dont know what else could be wrong..only thing i can say is keep looking around on here or perhaps post your own thread.

O and to Scream, all the programs i use are pefectly compatible with Vista.
