Solved: Ultimate Full Install
Can I use a Vista Ultimate FULL INSTALL disc to upgrade my current VistaHP without having to do a clean install?

I don't want to do a clean install b/c the computer came w/ HP preinstalled and there are programs preinstalled that I use. And the recovery disc it came w/ only installs HP+all programs and I can't choose what I want installed. Thus if I did an Ultimate clean install I'd be missing a bunch of programs and not be able to install them...

Thank you. That website was actually very helpful. However, I have 1 Q left. On the website it says "with a ful copy, you can upgrade when possible..." What do they mean by "when possible?" I assume if I have a previous version of VALID Vista, right? Which I do, so I belive that I should be able to use the Ultimate full install disc to upgrade my V.HP... I hope....

The 'when possible' I believe refers to the installation choices available, for instance upgrading from Vista HP to Ultimate is possible, from HP to Business is not. Have a look under the "What installation choices are available to you?" heading, it will explain it further.
