what bandwidth does your R-connect card give you ?
I am assuming you are trying to replicate a Lotus notes database onto your local machine, if there are too many files/views/documents to be replicated then you may have problem doing it on a lower bandwidth.

also are you using VPN ?

The Problem with Windows Vista
Please find the below problem and try to give the solution.

- We are using reliance data cards to all laptop users to access lotus notes
- We found there is not problem with reliance data card for all Windows XP users and they are getting the replication thru data card when there are out

The Problem with Windows Vista

- We have few users who were using reliance data cards for their laptops and
the OS is Windows Vista and the data card drivers are compatible with window vista only.

- From last week onwards they are not able to replicate the lotus notes database server when they are out of office and particularly its happening only to windows vista users.
- They don’t have any problem with internet surfing while using data card and particularly its not supporting for lotus notes replication.
- The same data card is working in another windows xp laptops and its working for both internet as well as for lotus notes replication also.

So the problem is limited to Vista users !!
First things first, can they ping the domino/notes server ?
Secondly, if they are using a VPN, is that compatible with Vista ?

and you might find this article interesting.

Gopal,

What happens if you plug the machine running vista directly into the company network without using the R connect card and VPN ?
Can you then manage to replicate the notes databases ?

You also might want to talk to IBM Support, and narrate your case, they might be able to point you in the right direction.

So thats where your problem lies !!
try this.
1. Uninstall your current VPN and try some other VPN with the same R-connect card.( see if it works, if not)
2. VPN using your original client and use a broadband and see if you can then replicate.

this way you'll be able to pin-point where exactly the problem lies ( VPN or R-connect)
