Did you get any error messages when following those "sc delete" instructions? Because those symantec entries should not be there in a new scanlog. Remember each line is to be individually entered. It looks like you only successfully deleted the first one.

Option two is to run services.msc and look for each, double click it, and set the startup mode to "disabled".

You can also try running regedit and navigating to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Look for them in the left pane and manually left click and delete them.

>> is it possible your "limewire" installation is consuming network bandwidth?

Lime wire has nothing to do with it ..Was doing it before the download
and no i didnt single line it . i wil and then post a log file but look i am on a 500 dollar e-machineand i took the speed test and it was 927 kbps download and 324 kbps upload speed ...so how dose my computer and this computer compare..This is a 3 year computer so many re-instalments -alot of downloads to and everything i jus cant belive this is better then mine ....and why i put the speed test of this one is because i wonder if they do got a upgrade of dsl then me a faster version if so i'm jus gonna upgrade my package as well ...

The connection speed is more than adequate for most audio visual streams. Certainly should be good enough for anything YouTube has to offer.

You need to redo the bottom 5 sc delete commands or disable or remove them manually. Enter the commands one at a time and them press "enter" after each. If you don't get an error message it should be working.

I don't see any of these services actually running, but then HJT doesn't show the files missing either -- so I really don't know whether they are being loaded.

I would expect to see them in running processes if they were.

Well that's progrsss

The first had already been deleted.

As for this, what was the error message? Are you sure you spelled it correctly >>

O23 - Service: Symantec Lic NetConnect service (CLTNetCnService) - Symantec Corporation - c:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe

It's the bold part here that is the service name.

As for the streaming issue about all I can suggest is try clearing your Internet and Adobe flash caches with CCleaner. I wouldn't use it for anything else though.

http://www.ccleaner.com/

By the way, are you connecting though a wireless connection, and if so, do you have a choice ? >>

Do as Noyb says and make those recovery CD's/DVD's as soon as possible.
If it won't let you create a DVD, you will have to use CD's, it could take 6 to 8 Cd's.

Also, if you do not want Symantec on there anymore at all. You should uninstall it from Add/Remove and then run the

Norton Removal Tool

This will get rid of all those things you are trying to kill from HijackThis.

If you are going to use AVG Free. It is highly recommended to run a manual scan atleast once a week, if not more often. It is not very good at Retrospective/ProActive Tests.

http://www.av-comparatives.org/

The 2 best AV's are Avira (but does tend to slow the system a bit), and NOD32 which does not slow a system down, not enough to be noticable. The best solutions are not always free.

That'l do it

Are things any better in the a/v streaming department ? ... because I really don't know what to suggest there.

The only possible issue is the parental controls which exist in the "winsock" protocols as listed in the scanlog. This may be independent of what user is logged in even though they are not technically enabled for that user.

Does the account with those enabled always load? I'm not really familiar with the Parental Controls setup -- can you disable it?

If you want to reset the Winsock protocol -- which may remove those PC protocols, enter:

netsh winsock reset catalog at a command prompt and then reboot.

I believe that should remove those entries from the scanlog.
