I was just wondering if there is a way to keep it transparent even when windows are maximized. Right now, it turns transparent only when i don't have any maximized windows open...

How did you make the taskbar transparent in the first place?

I believe there are a couple of third party progs which can do it. Otherwise it was a feature of one of the earlier betas (Can't recall which one) but for some reason MS dropped it.

Yes, there are some themes that allow it after a VistaGlazz patch, but which one is involved here?

I'm using the standard Windows Aero theme...

i thought there would just be an option somewhere to change it.

Is there a way to disable the information that pops up when i rest the pointer on each item in the start menu. They are coming up way too fast and its getting annoying!

The problem is that we have not seen a clear taskbar except with third-party add-ons. Are you sure that is what you are talking about, the bar across the bottom with the tray and quicklaunch in it?
