You can make a back-up copy, legally, of any disc you own.
I have back-ups of my movies, games and music. I own each and every original disc, therefore it is legal.
You cannot sell or give away though, unless you give them the original and all copies or destroy the copies.

You do realize that, even with this PCLinuxOS CD that I burnt, resulted in lining the RIAAs' pockets? We pay a surtax om all blank CDs' sold in Canada to the RIAA. Now I ask you, why does the RIAA need money because I burnt an OS on a blank CD?
Sony owes me some music!

Updating would vary anyway due to connection speeds. Just go by my ten minutes to install and be dual booting. I did have a partition made already. Wasn't meant for that, but came in handy.

Ok so I figured out how to get the menu to pull up to allow me to see Vista and XP. I have to hit F8 when I start up the computer. Then pick the hard drive i want, and then I get the dual boot menu. Not sure why this work around works.

Also, as far as time line, it took me 1 hour and 22 minutes to install Vista, and do the updates.

Started at 5:31, 10:50 you weren't able to dual boot yet, 2 days later you are done and it took less than an hour and a half to install and update? OK.

to answer your question rootbear....... Yes you are correct. Installing vista took no time at all, the updates were a breeze. Took less than an hour and a half to install and update (as my post states). Could be the 4 gigs of RAM or the AMD 6600 X2 Processor that helped speed the installation along. OK.

I made the original posts hoping for some feedback and then did the installation way later that night. So your timetable that you listed in the post above is out of whack. OK.

I still have to hit F8 to bring up the dual boot menu though. Both HDD set as primary and active.
