Screen saver.... no options.
I recently had to reinstall Vista Home Premium onto a new hard drive (as the old one crashed). I wanted to use a certain photo file as my screen saver but when I clicked on Screen saver and then setting it came up with "No options. This screen saver has no options you can set." On my lap top and on my previous Vista - which was installed by Dell - you could go into setting and then browse. The first window gives you options like preset windows screen savers or photo's... but that is all photos in your photo section...

Can anybody help?

It is not settings where you choose it...click and scroll the bar to the left of that.

The bar to the left gives me options for preinstalled screen savers and photos... but it will show all photos in my picture section.

I do have vista on my lap top (and I had it on my computer before the hard drive went) and I go/ went through settings and it then gave you an option to browse (I could do individual folders with photos in)... on the reinstalled Vista Home Premium disc it doesn't allow me to do this... it gives the message i said above. Maybe I need to activate it... if that is the case I don't know how.

Any other suggestions?

Which "Screen Saver" do you have selected?

Are you sure that you had NOT used the "Wallpaper" area to display this photo on the desktop all the time?

No - the section I am in is clearly marked "Screen-saver" besides, I've used it before and I have it on my lab top so I know what I am doing and when I click on settings it comes up as quoted above.

I have a screen saver on at the moment... it is one of the preinstalled ones. I have many options/ choices when I click on the left... including photos... but that, as I said, only allows me to access everything in the picture section. I want to browse a particular file with photos in it.. like I can do on my lap top, like i used to do before my hard drive went.

"like I can do on my lap top,"
This is NOT a Microsoft item, it is something that the OEM (Dell) of this machine installed on it.

When in the screen saver on the machine that works, what is the name of the screen saver that is selected?

OK.... I have found it.. What you have to do is click on photo's for your screen saver then click on settings then browse.

Probably I was being thick.

Thanks for your help.

Merry Christmas to all Tech Guy folks.

That will select a Folder and then all of the photos in that folder will be subject to being displayed based on the settings that you have selected in the Theme and speed area.
