Won't Fall Asleep! Keeps waking up.
I have a home premium..got it yesterday. When I put it in sleep mode it stays for a few seconds and then just wakes back up again. Lot's of people seem to have this problem. They said it might have something to do with updates coming on but I don't think so. The mouse and keyboard are definitely not moving either. Can you help?

After more research I believe this is an HP problem and I do indeed have an HP. Will they be releasing a fix?

These issues could be the settings in Power Options Control panel, so how about telling us how yours is set.
The model might help too. Is it a desktop or laptop? Is bios set to allow power management? Any wakeup settings enabled in bios Power Management?
Most of the time if the settings are right, this is caused by a bad driver that will not allow power management to work.

Rich-M is right on with the power management suggestions. But, rather than going into BIOS and all that technical stuff, try this first;

go to Device Mgr/Network Adaptors/ Intel?? card "properties"/ and uncheck "allow device to wake up PC"

and for good measure, go to Mice "properties" (in Device Mgr)/ and again uncheck "allow device to wake PC"

I had exactly the same problems as you with my new HP with Vista, but doing the above cured same. Good luck - Morty

Thanks, I tried your solution for sleep mode and it worked well.
