Solved: Formatting Vista and reinstalling
I was trying to format the C: drive and it says, "Windows unable to format"

What can I do?

I've tried to format it through the Computer management &, prompt

I just simply just want to clean out the computer and start fresh.

You cannot format the boot drive from within windows. You need to boot from the installation disc.

XP or Vista?

Do you have install discs? If not, You more than likely have a hidden install partition on the HD.

Whats the Make and Model of the system?
