second hard drive help please..
hello.

i'm running vista home 32bit. and i just physically installed a second SATA hard drive.

i'm in my disk management and i see the new hard drive... Disk 1, unknown, unallocated and has the black bar..

the problem here is when i right click on the black bar the new simple volume, new spanned volume and new striped volume options cant be selected. only properties and help.

do i need to update the driver first? or do i choose the option of initializing disk? i dont want to click anything wrong!!

this was an OEM and i'm new at this so any help is appreciated!
thank you

Yes, you need to initialize the disk. The disk status will briefly change to Initializing and then Online status.
