Vista >to> XP >to> Vista without recovery discs
I may be screwed here, I got a new laptop and I wanted to install xp on it (very common issue) wouldn't you know it, I can't find drivers for my hardware, before I did the change I thought I had downloaded the right drivers from the manufacturer (gateway) website, but that website is by far the worst I've ever dealt with for downloading drivers. anyways, I installed xp without making the recovery discs that the computer doesn't come with. I figured I could just use the recovery partition which I didn't touch when I installed xp. Here's the question

How do I go back to VISTA from XP using the recovery partition only?

I've tried doing the whole F8 thing, but it just gave me the usual xp options. any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you are booted into XP can you access the Recovery Partition at all? If so, there may be a "Start" program.

Last year when I thought I was going to have to reinstall XP on a Gateway using the recovery partition I found very helpful information on Gateway's site. Suggest you start there and see if you can find anything.

I know little about this subject, but fear that you may have to buy the recovery disk(s) from Gateway.
