How do I remove?
Hey all! I have Windows Vista Home Prem and I would like to know how to remove rmove startup thingy that pops up when you boot up? Is this a service thing?

windows defender blocked programs is always popping up telling you that it has blocked programs from running

If you mean the welcome screen, then open the 'Control Panel' them double click 'Welcome Center' then on the very bottom left take the tick out of the box to stop it opening at startup.

No Not window center Window Defender blocked programs that pop up a balloon messege telling you that it blocked startup programs. I want to be able to get rid off it.

It seems that unless you check everything in msconfig "startup" to start up when the pc boots, a popup will tell you that it has blocked some startup programs, the ones that you have removed the checkmark from.

Is this normal for Vista?

which shows you where to get the information on this.

If you just want to hide it however, right click on taskbar>select properties>notification area tab>customise>click on the one you want and choose hide from the dropdown menu that comes up.
