Thumbs up Outlook overpowering Windows Mail
Hi All

Having some problems with Windows Mail. It works fine for general sending and receiving of emails but...

1) If i go into my contacts list, right click someone and click 'send email' it opens outlook.
2) If i click on a link in an email or on a webpage it opens outlook.

I have selected Windows Mail to be my default mail handler and have gone into outlook and unchecked 'Make Outlook the default program for email, contacts and Calender'.

I know the obvious thing is to uninstall Outlook but i use it for backing up my PDA and it was a nightmare to set up in the first place so i am loath to do that.

Any ideas? Thanks for your time...

In Vista, do you have it set as the default program for the MAILTO protocol?

One way is to:
Start IE
Tools / Internet Options / Programs tab
Set Programs button
Set your default programs
Windows Mail
Set this program as default
You can also look at Choose defaults for this program
