Found a bug in AVG Anti-Virus software
While trying to make a backup using Vista's built-in function, my system froze. I had to shut down manually and restart. I tried 3 times and got the same result.

I suspected a software conflict. AVG Anti-Virus, free edition, was my most recent addition. So I went to Task Manager and terminated all but one AVG processes, namely, avgrssvc.exe. I was then able to successfully do a back up. I shut off my modem just to be safe.

I tried to contact AVG tech support, but only registered users are allowed to do this. Hopefully, someone at AVG will see this thread.

Bug in AVG
I've gone to their website and there is no obvious way to contact them. One must enter the registration number before contact information is given.
