Smile Can't listen to online radio
Hi,

Since around 10 days ago, I've been unable to listen to online radio streams. On the player, it just says "Ready". Please help!!!!

Check to be sure your firewall is not blocking; and it would help to know what player you are using.

I've checked the firewall settings, and they seem to be ok. Not sure on the player. The site is talksport.net (then listen live). It's an online stream.

How do you feel about doing a "System Restore" to when it worked?

You can reverse them if you wish.

If not that, have you tried more than one player and different stations?

Already tried different players and system restore, but nothing fixed the problem. It's happening with various broadcasters.

I don't know how to listen to it through Windows media player or Realplayer. I also have problems listening to stations through these players.

Error message is C00D11C6 (ran out of memory), but I have plenty of free RAM on my system.

This is a personal computer used at home? Do you have another computer at home you can try?

Open Windows Media Player; click File > Open URL and paste this in there and click ok; does it play?

http://64.62.252.136:5100

>> Post a HijackThis scanlog :

Download and install HijackThis. Run it and select "do a system scan and save the log file". Then copy/paste the contents of the log to a reply

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download5554.html

>> Try a Clean boot :

Run msconfig and select the "Services" tab. Check "Hide Microsoft Services" and then disable the rest. Also uncheck "load startup group" on the general page.

See this link for detailed information:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;310353
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 << for Vista, but applies equally to XP, and better written.

Now restart and test the issue at hand

If no problems, run msconfig and recheck half the disabled items on the Services tab. Test again. If the problem recurs, UNcheck half the items you just checked to narrow down the culprit.

If the problem didn't occur, check the other half, so all the Services are enabled -- proceed to do this on the startup tab as well.

Get the idea? You want to isolate the problem to a specific startup if possible.

Note: if you already have items unchecked under msconfig > startups and are in “selective” startup mode – you should note what these are before beginning. They will need to be de-selected again.

Yes, it's at home. The clip plays fine. Thanks so much for your suggestions. I'll try them and post my results. Thanks again.
