Exclamation HELP NEEDED ASAP!! Vista Upgrading & Installing??
i have vista home basic and have just been given a dvd with vista ultimate on it

if i install vista ultimate on my hardrive will all my programmes be deleted??

i have made a partition on the hardrive so was wondering if i could install vista ultimate on that just incase all my stuff is deleted?

Put the DVD in and start it from Vista. You should see an upgrade option that will keep all your programs.

when i put the disk in it only says install and not upgrade

Try booting from the DVD just to see what the options are. Usually, when you boot from the DVD, it tells you that the upgrade option will be available from within Vista. Have you tried clicking on "Install" to see if the upgrade option shows up after that?
