Top half of Welcome Screen and Start Menu Avatar is faded!
The top half of the Avatar on my Welcome Screen and Start Menu is faded above a downward curve extending from side-to-side in the image from the tops of the Avatar's frame color shift points--with that part of the picture above the curve being much lighter in color than that below it.

This condition both when I use one of Vista's provided .bmg images or one of my own .jpg images.

Originally, I thought that this was some kind of stupid "effect" that Vista was going for, but now think that it's probably yet another Vista "glitch"!

Any suggestions or comments?

Well, I found out what 13 of you apparently didn't know in another tech forum. My weird avatar "problem" is evidently normal--an apparent and pathetic attempt by MS Vistra to make your avatar look like it is in a "bubble".
