go to the site for shockwave publisher, download the updated version there, and it should work thereafter, if not you might want to check and make sure you internet settings are allowing you to view media. mind you if you have the updated version and a site still tells you that it is more than likely malicious!

Thumbs down cheers ian but let me explain more clearly
what happens is that i visit www.bbciplayer.co.uk for instance and when it opens up it say that i need the latest version of shockwave player so i click on the link, which then apparently is sucessfully downloaded but after i have done it i reacess the bbc site and it says the same message.

do you have that add on enabled check in your internet options, and see if it is listed there and active.
Still you should go to the site of the publisher and download the install files there and install it if your internet exploere is in protected mode it might not install. unless you download it and run the installer package from your PC.
