Try boosting your vDIMM voltage. Put it to 1.9V or even 2.0V. See if that helps.

Those are Intel chipsets, which from my experience never have issues working with all 4 DIMM slots populated. However, he has an nVIDIA 650i chipset and it can be picky.

all thats on that page are supported "brands" of memory, can you paste the actually website that shows that memory to be compatible with that board please?.

IF you can get into the bios it might be worth manually setting your memory timings.

You guys are right. I just figured that if the mobo homepage showed compatibility with OCZ then all models of OCZ RAM would work. I hate to waste $200 bucks worth of RAM.

I just cant understand why the jump from 4 to 8 is causing problems. I would think that if my specific RAM model is not compatible, then it would not even complete the POST or boot Windows no matter how much RAM is in there. Am I correct in assuming this?

Well you are half right but the problem is not all compatibility shows up as "black and white" and so obvious. Failures of compatibility can prevent booting but also cause all kinds of other issues and fake you out to the fact that it is not working. Like I said this is why I don't buy the board unless I can prove by a configurator that I can buy ram that will work flawlessly and this problem is getting worse and worse with newer technology.

So I could be having a general drop in overall performance because of this? For example...I'm not seeing a "significant" increase in game performance between my old 8600GT's and my new 8800GTS SSC's. This could be caused by my RAM not being 100% compatible??

Just a quick idea, i know of someone with the similar issue, it was power provided by the PSU and then the stock voltage for the ram was not high enough. just a suggestion prob wrong!

if i was going to buy ram for this board it would be the corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5 2x2GB, its stated on the msi memory configurator to be compatible with that board. although this is not 100% sure to fix the 8gb problem but worth a try. also i think your motherboard doesn't support EPP.
