Solved: Please help installing Live Messenger
I have been trying for days to install Live Messenger but it won't download. I'm using that "Windows Live Installer" thing and it keeps failing and sending me here: http://help.live.com/help.aspx?proje...ry=22004208ilw

Windows Update works fine so the suggestions on that page are useless.

Is there any other way of getting messenger which doesn't use that downloader? Surely there must be a basic setup application for system admins or something?

Thanks in advance for your help!

goto microsoft download center, and download the 8.1 version, this is still widows live, but it is the entire install package, the new one is web based, and actually not protected by most security suites yet.
