XP 32 bit can really only handle 3 gb and Vista is no different. Now with 64 bit another story but what will you be doing you want so much ram for?

No, 4GB is the limit but it will only "see" ~3.5GB.

That's why I said "handle". Bios will show it but Windows will not read over 3.2-3.5.

Yes but RAM is so cheap these days. It's not like it's a big difference. In Vista it will be even better because Superfetch will use all the extra RAM.
