Windows Live Messenger and Vista - Not Working...
Hello all

I am having a few problems with my Windows Live Messenger , it either wont sign it , takes forever to sign in , or when it does sign in , it only stays signed in for about 2 mins then trys to reconeect
If i manage to get it to stay signed in , my contacts cant seem to contact me at all , and i belive that my contact list is not auto updating when new contacts come online

Ive tried everything to the best of my knowledge , ive opened up the ports for Windows Live Messenger on my firewall , with no success
Ive tried installing an older version of MSN ( 7.5) which worked up until the point of running it , at which point it then asked me to update to the lastest version and thus my problems retuned

It has been suggested that my install of Vista may be corrupt somewhere , which would meen i would have to sit and reformat the thing, which to be honest i cant be botherd to do unless it is essnetial

I would apprciate any help that you guys can give and i am happy to answer any questions you may have

Cheers
Anarchy

Do you have a firewall? Maybe your security software is blocking it somehow. What browser you using. Try Firefox.

Im running Vista, and use Messenger without any problems, but did have to train my Firewall to learn its settings.

I am allready using FireFox
Never did like IE

And in terms of security , im running Avast Anti Virus Version 4.7
Details of which can be found at http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
In terms of the Windows Firewall , i have no idea , never really trusted it so i havnt got a clue what its doing or even how to go about changing it
