Create windows shortcut to item in Control panel
I know how to create a shortcut from the desktop.
I was just wondering if there is a way to create a shortcut straight to my printers properties dialog box?

Thank you for any help on this,
Michael

Look in your Start menu on the lower right side it may be there. If NOT, right click the start button, select properties, start menu tab, then customize on the right side of Start menu.
Scroll down to Printers and add a check mark, OK yourself out.

Sorry,
Maybe I am not very clear.
I want instead of hitting >Start> Control Panel>Printers>Then select MY PRINTER> Right click properties.

I want to be able to create/click a shortcut and I am already at my printers properties window.

Thank you,
Michael

You probably won't be able to set a shorcut that far in because the printer properties is a routine that runs within the printer's domain. You might be able to ferret it out if its a dll or some such but there's no promise that would work without first alerting the printer you are going into the properties.

DaveA was directing you to the method by which you cut out about two or three of the steps you listed. I don't know if Printers expands from the menu like it does in XP since I don't have any printers installed there yet but if it does then following DaveA's course cuts your path down to Start>Printers-right click on your printer and choose properties.

Go to control panel find "printer" drag and drop the word to the desktop and you have it. Worked for me.
