problem installing vista! error message
Hopefully you can help me out with this problem, im hoping that its not me being stupid.........

Ok here goes, i recently bought a brand new computer including[/indent]:[*]BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC2 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI [*]Corsair VX 450W ATX PSU (CMPSU-450VXUK) [*]GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency [*]Abit IP35-E (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard[*]Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz

the only things i didnt change was my old hard drive of 200 gb which has been wiped and the cd/dvd drives. I believe am able to install vista home premium and it gets to complete installation and then restarts. But when it restarts vista starts to load and i get the message. "The computer has restarted unexpectedly or the hardware has encountered an unexpected error, please reinstall the program. (That should be correct ill update it if it isnt), i have reinstalled it about 5 times and i keep getting the same message.

Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks a lot, ill add any information that is needed.

What program is referring to?
Are you able to boot to safe mode?
Any errors in event viewer?

What happen if you uninstall the program in question?

thanks for the reply
The actual program is vista home premium im trying to install but it is not completeing it succesfully.
it gets to completing installation suddenly restarts, then vista starts to load but i then get the message i posted above.
if i try to reboot it in safe mode it says "windows vista has not installed correctly" ive ran diagnostic checks and it says everythings fine and my system should be compatible. plus everytime i reinstall i get the same message.

sorry for not being clear on my first post,
thanks for the reply

So if I understand correctly you removed the old hard-drive and replaced with a new one. Set the new Harddrive as Master. Then you created a new partition, formatted the drive and started a clean install of Windows Vista.

Also everytime the OS failed to install, you reformatted the HD and started a new clean install Correct?

What is the size of your partition? Have you tried to create multiple partitions?

See if you able to install Vista if you create 2 partitions of 100 GB.
