I'm having problems connecting to the internet when I go through my router but it is fine when i go through my modem. I am having this problem on both of my computers. The router worked for a couple days and then suddenly stopped.

I am able to ping my ip address but not outside sites.

It keeps saying that cannot connect to my dns

Can you ping 4.2.2.1?
Is 208.67.222.222 the correct DNS server for your Internet connection?

If you can't ping by IP, then you have more than a DNS problem.

Since both computers are having the same problem, the router is suspect.
