Question PC Mover to move files and programs from XP to Vista?
Hi

Any comments on using PC Mover from Laplink software? It says it will move programs as well as files. http://www.laplink.com/pcmover

I am going from XP to Vista. I figured I would use an external hard drive, however, Laplink says it will move programs which would help.

Thanks,
TM

I prefer to copy all of my data to a external USB drive. After my new system is set up, I will copy the data from the USB drive to the new system.
I have found that something always does NOT get moved. I do NOT always use the OS provided folders for my data and there are some programs that still save the data to the program folder and these "Movers" do not find this data.
