WAYYY to many processes running in vista!
My fiances computer is running way to slow and it is running up to 88 processes at a time! So I went into msconfig and stopped everything that I knew she didn't need for the start up, but it still has way to many processes running. So I made a log with process explorer hoping someone in here could give me a little guidence to what needs to be turned off.

Here is the log:

Can anyone look at the list I put up and tell me what I don't need to have on? Thank you.

Upgrading her ram shouldn't really be necesary as she has 1 GB and it is a lab top, should it? All the processes that are running is currently taking up 70 % of the physical memory!

Most companies reccomend atleast 2 gigs with vista, that's waht I'm running and it runs 82 processes just fine, upgrading might not be a bad idea.

I'm also using a laptop. My Physical memory floats from 40-60% with IE, word/excel/WMP, etc. and the normal 80 processes.

If you want to terminate some of those processes, you can conrol+alt+delete and click on proecesses tab, and read the description that if offers to decide whether or not to terminate, or check this site:

http://www.liutilities.com/products/...rocesslibrary/

Or even google the process to see waht it says.

Vista gobbles ram because of the many features of the Operating System. Plus, it's 2008....1GB was a lot of ram like 5 years ago...now it's nothing.
