Windows Vista not restarting properly
I have a MacBook Pro and partitioned the drive and installed Windows Vista, that was about a few months ago and haven't had any problems until now. I recently purchased CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Hard Evidence computer game. The supporting OS for this game is Windows 2000/XP/Vista only, I went to install it and I chose to do the full install and it installed without any errors at least nothing showed up and it said it was installed and it showed up under the start menu. When I clicked on the shortcut on desktop it came up with an error saying I am missing MSVCR71.dll - I then googled the dll and found a site that searches and fixes errors which was Registery Booster 2. Well it found about 140 something errors and fixed them but not the above dll. I uninstalled the game and I installed windows updates and went to restart the computer but it didn't restart. It said Shutting Down on the screen and then it went black and just continued to run like that and what I believe is the fan blowing but it never rebooted. So I clicked on the power button once and it just shut down, so I logged back into the Windows partition and tried to research (google) this issue and got nowhere. I went to shut it down last night and it had an update to install so I clicked install and after install it shut down like it is supposed to. Today I logged onto Windows and tried to restart it and it showed Shutting Down and went black without all the noise and sounded as if it was going to boot back up, it didn't and so I clicked on the power button once and it instantly shut down. So I have no idea what the problem is....help please!!! |
