Windows Mail
I am running Vista and having problems with windows mail. When I try to send an email I get the error message

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: RE:', Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Can anyone help?

Many thanks,

Johanne

Have a look here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/191687/en-us

But before you try the 'at your own risk' solution it offers, have a look at the MORE INFORMATION piece further down where it mentions that this error can occur because of anti virus or firewall.

Many thanks, had a look at your suggestion and it now seems to have righted itself.
