Windows Vista Sound problem
Wll my audio service is not running, but when I go into the services i'll try to start the service, but it gives me error1078-dependency on the service or group failed to start. /i've looked at the other forums and it says that windows audio endpoint builder has to be started, it is started, but i still get the same error message, i've updataed all of my drivers, i even reinstalled the audio driver. help!

Are you referring to Windows Audio Service? Have you double clicked it and checked the dependency list and verified that those services shown as dependencies are running or can be started?

Is the "Plug and Play" service also running?

Run regedit and navigate to this key>

Hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\mmcss

Is this service present and the start value set to 2

When did the problem begin, and have you tried doing a "system restore" to a date prior (run: rstrui.exe )

Restores can be undone if desired, as long as you don't do them from Safe Mode.

yea, i checked the dependencies and got it working again, thanks alot. You guys are awesome.
