Need to re install vista (No disc)
I bought a new computer about a few months ago and it came with vista, I decided to try out Linux Ubunto, and it was alright, but I couldn't play some of the windows games on it, even with Wine, so I decided to try and go with XP. I have XP on my computer, but none of my drivers are working, I went to HP's website to get the drivers, but they only have them for Windows Vista 64 bit, not XP 64 bit. So it appears I have to go back to Vista, but my computer didn't come with an install disc (yes I do have the product key), so I don't know what to do. Does anyone have a soloution here?

you might be able to do a search on the web for the drivers you need. other wise you will have to contact the pc manufacturer and get the recovery cd's at a cost of course.

If you got no recovery media, you may have a recovery partition on the drive. Chances are that imnstalling Ubuntu destroyed it, but it may still be present, if inaccessible. Did you see another partition during installation?

Otherwise, getting a copy of Vista from the manufacturer may be the only option if you overwrote yours.

Ok, I got Vista loaded up, but now it's asking me to choose which partition to install it on, and I'm clueless. I have 2 primary ones (is what it's telling me). One of them is using a lot of space, the other not so much. Any suggestions, or do you need more info?

How big are they? Chances are that one of them is your recovery partition, so you want Vista on the larger one.
