I'm using Vista. Windows Mail is my default for email. I'm trying to send a photo via email. Photos are on Windows Photo Gallery. I follow the steps to send the photo but when I hit "send" it just goes back to Photo Gallery. Started researching and found that the photo is in the "send" in Microsoft Office Outlook which I've never used. I decided to try hitting "send" in this program only to find that the "send" button wasn't there - I had to set up the account. It still doesn't go. Error says the settings are wrong but they are the same as Windows Mail.

1. If I'm using Vista and their Windows Mail and their Windows Photo Gallery, why are the photos going to Microsoft Office Outlook and not Windows Mail.

2. Should I uninstall the program Microsoft Office Outlook. Would that solve my problem.

Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Go to Start Default programs and then "Set your default programs". In the Left Pane select Windows Mail, then select Set this program as default.

My Windows Mail shows as the default but I followed your instructions and did it again. Still no luck. When it goes to the email message, it doesn't look like my usual Windows Mail screen either.
