Most entertaining, I read and enjoyed all three pages (thus far, and I didn't even get to see anything that might have been removed already or any PMs of course) for, I must admit, the off-topic topic because I've exchanged amicable (I think) posts with jon the firefox upon occasion and they were of special note (to me). I think no further investigation is now called for; he seems to be in the habit of picking up on a very small point of the whole, be it semantics or otherwise and the main thrust of the objective is forgotten or ignored. I thnk jonmcc33 is the type who would run smack into the first tree becuase he didn't see the forest; his last words would be "its a woods dammit, a woods!"

Well, you did say that "even Microsoft call it a hidden account" correct? That would imply something from them, correct? I'll take a Microsoft website since that should be easy. When I searched I saw Microsoft state merely that the admin account was now disabled by default in Vista as a security feature.

Do you have anything from Microsoft stating this?

Yes, I waste too much time on the details to make sure they do not get missed, that is probably one of my downsides but I think it was drilled into me in the military. I swear that's the reason why!

Just want to get the facts straight. If you're right then I learn something new. What's wrong with that?

this post is so off topic i think it needs either split or locked. We need to solve this problem and move on to other topics.

Here's one. Found it in less that 30 seconds.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q300433/

jbm1991, your grammar was absolutely correct.
So like with XP, the administrator logon is not disabled. It is just hidden. That's all you said and it is correct.

Now that we have hopefully cleared that up, we can continue to move on.

If you want to see that message jon removed, I can send it to you. But certainly glad it was removed.

Your observations seem to be what others are beginning to notice as well. Look at all the recent posts that have been used just because one person didn't like the correct usage of the word "hidden" in regards to the administrator logon. What a waste.

That says that the logon dialog is hidden and not that the account itself is "hidden".

You and jbm1991 have both called the account itself "hidden" and not the logon dialog. So we are clear on this. The administrator account is not hidden but the logon dialog for it is. Oddly enough it was for Windows XP as well. I'm glad we've cleared this up.

It was just my perspective on you and what you've done here during my short tenure so far. Are you denying that you told someone who filled up their recovery partition to rename the folders when they were merely trying to free up space on that partition? That was the original problem IIRC. Would you like me to post the link to the thread here?
