Question Windows Mail Problem
Hello first time poster here. Y'all can call me BOB. I have a question. I have recently set up Windows Mail on my laptop. I can receive mail but I can not send mail. I am connecting to the Internet via a wireless router. I only have this problem on my home network when I am at the office or anywhere else my mail works great. but from my home I can only receive mail. Here is the error I receive.

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Fw: "XXXXXXXX", Account: 'pop.XXXXX.net', Server: 'smtp.XXXXXl.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I have XXXX out the server names and such for security reasons. Any help would be appreciated. I have a suspicion that it is something in my firewall but I am not sure if it is my router firewall or my laptop. By the way I am using the free trial of Norton that came with this computer. My router is a 2wire wireless gateway.

Thanks again,
BOB

Double check you mail server settings in "Accounts", "Properties", to be certain you didn't do something as simple as :
mail,localnet.com (note the , instead of .) also most mail servers require authentication for outgoing mail and there is a checkmark needed for that on the same tab.

I have checked all of that and it is all in order. The only time I have this problem is on my home network. Every where else I connect it works fine.
