Shared drives arent
Dang it.. just when I thought Vista was wonderful, along came networking...
I have set up 2 computers both with Vista, and wish to network them. That was the relatively simple bit. They are on the same network, can see each other, and so far so good. But, on computer 1, I can see and access all the drives on computer 2 that I want to. However, computer 2 can see th edrives, but I cannot access them. Settings are the same as far as iI can tell, no passwords selected, password control off. Cannot for the life of me figure out why I cant see the drives I want! I also got a NAS today, but dont want to even think about setting it up until I resolve this one. Cheers all

Hmmm. Things get even more complicated.. Done all I can think of, and it seems I am halfway. Both machines have 2 HD in them, and now I can access 1 on rig1 from rig2, and 1 on rig2 from rig 1. As far as Ican tell, all settings are identical, for both machines and for all drives. I am now officially wall climbing on this one

I di dlook at the thread before, along with a fw others. My problem seems to differ in that I do have a network, just not a complete one. I can access some parts, but not others, and there seems to be a general problem in deciding which disk it will actually talk to at any given time. Still trying hard, but the options seem to be getting lowere and lower as time goes by
