I have no clue how this all started, I just noticed problems one day and it's been the same ever sense. My wireless card still works and I can connect to networks, but the actual networking interface in Vista is gone/corrupt. First off, the networking symbol in the task bar is x'd out. When I right click on it or highlight it nothing happens. When I click 'Network' on the start menu, I get a blank screen. If I go to the control panel and click on any of the 'network and internet' links the tab freezes and takes like 5 minutes to pop-up. This is extremely annoying when I travel and need to connect to a new wireless connection. Make sure the following services are Started (Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services). If you are not using the classic Control Panel view you'll probably have to drill down another level or two to find Administrative Tools.

I get an error code 1450 for Network List Service -insufficient system rescources to complete the task.

You were right, most of the services you listed were not started. I must have mistyped something the first time because I thought I had tried using 'group' instead of host and it didn't work, however I just tried again and everythings back to normal now.
