If I right-click the sound icon in the system tray and choose "Recording Devices", I can see that my line-in is set to default and I can see that it's receiving sound too. What's more, I can load sound recorder, hit record, and then play back the sounds that the XBox has made.
So please, could somebody tell me if there's a way I can just have sound on all the time?
I've uninstalled/reinstalled drivers for an hour or so, I'm sure that's not the issue. I've also scoured the internet for a good hour now, and can't seem to find a solution to this problem.
My sound is all on-board, the drivers say: "SigmaTel High Definiton Audio Codec 6.10.0.5511". I'd be quite comfortable editing the registry if there's a way of fixing this little issue that way.
Hopefully someone here can help!

I think some sound cards, maybe built in ones also, only have sound in or out not both at the same time but anyway what a long winded way of getting sound from your xbox.
If they did it would be an easy way of recording streamed sound,ie plug the line out into the line in.That would be nice but I don't think it works that way.
