Vista Ultimate (if you bought the OS) comes with two separate DVD installations. One is 32 bit, the other is 64bit.

Did you install the 64 bit first?

Yes that requires a new install. Are you certain you have no disks as Ultimate is the only version that comes with both disks included but of course not if you buy a branded pc, then the disks are extra.

No disks came with it, no restore disks nothing, nada ,I'm certain.....I bought a HP and it was preloaded With VU and the salesman is the one who told me one of the perks of VU was that you could switch bit systems, in fact he says he owns VU on his personal computer, so that is how he knew...

Not without the disk I'm afraid.
Perhaps you should ask the salesman for the Vista 32 disk ?
Make a scene, he might give it to you to get you out of the shop
