"My Computer" freezing on Vista : Help!?
Hey there. Whenever I plug in my external HDD or Ipod, the "safely remove" icon appears as normal in my taskbar. But when I open "My Computer" to access it, "My Computer" totally freezes and does not display the drive. When I remove the External HDD, "My Computer" starts working immediately.

Help plz? I don't know what is wrong.

My Specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200 + 2.20 Ghz
Ram: 2 gigs
System: Vista Business 64 bit

I even tried uninstalling my Phone drivers and Program Suite, still not solving the problem.
Should I try a system restore? My restore only goes back a week though.

First off I would try to download all the latest drivers for everything on your laptop. The main thing you want to look for is USB drivers, BIOS, and Chipset updates. It seems as though there is a error with some sort of plug and play devices that is not allowing it to view and causes freezes.

Check the OEM sites of the different hardware that you are having issues with, as THEY will have updated drivers if they are required.
