I recently finished a new build and clean installed vista premium. Mind you the kids do fool around with this computer. Now it has begun to hang on shutdown. What's the procedure for trouble shooting this?

Hello.

Boot to safe mode, & test.
If the problem does not occur in safe mode, perform clean boot troubleshooting.

In XP, you can set your computer to clear the pagefile.sys at shutdown, which will prolong your shutdown time. It takes an edit of the registry in XP. I don't know how to do it in Vista, or if it is possible, in Vista, but it is something to consider.
